Dr. Ashley Sheil is a cybersecurity researcher. She is currently researching national cyber safety initiatives focused on supporting older adults and other vulnerable groups.She completed her PhD in usable security and privacy at Maynooth University, holds a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Galway, and an undergraduate degree in Physics and Mathematics from Maynooth. Ashley has also had a career in music and working with horses, both training and teaching horse riding.Her research examines how to make cybersecurity more accessible, with interests spanning dark patterns, cybercrime law, and digital forensics. She has presented her work at leading conferences in human computer interaction including CHI, CSCW, and USEC.
